This place is a RIP-OFF!!!!! Although the food is good, be prepared to pay through the nose. No, the prices on the menu won't get you but the owner will. This is one of those restaurants that runs your credit card TWICE when you use it. We got charged on our debit card once for the total without tip and once for the total with tip 2 days after our visit. In addition, because it was on our debit card, it took the money right out of our checking, causing us to have an overdraft on our account. I called the owner and all he said was he would look through his paperwork. The next thing I knew he had someone from his credit card place calling us back. This poor guy had no idea what even happened. The owner, who speaks little english, only knows how to get money out of people and pass the problems onto someone else. When I told him I'd give him a bad review, he said "I don't care". This problem is yet to be resolved and we're yet to get our money back...$120 in overdraft fees on top of it. I think they were counting on us not to check our statement! If you go to this restaurant, pay in cash and hold on to your wallet when the owner walks by! Unfortunately, it's people like him who give Persians a bad name.....

BEWARE the dinner for 2 option. We went here for dinner looking to have a good meal that doesn't break the bank and thats what it did. The dinner for two offers a selection of 3 appetizers and 3 entrees plus a salad for about $20 to $25. It looked like a good deal until we got the bill and it was $25 PER PERSON! It did not clearly state that in the menu, I had to go back and search for the small print at the bottom of the page. This was very misleading and I'm guessing it has happened to others. I thought we were getting to try smaller portions of all the items we ordered, but it was a waste of food (we were going out afterward and couldn't keep the doggy bag) and for the price it was not that good. We would never had ordered that much food for two nor spent that much money. I spoke to the manager of the place and he did't do anything. Come to think of it we did not get our salad either. I will not go back.

Aperitif 21 is the best Persian/Mediterranean Restaurant in Chicago. Try the Koubideh and Chenge/Fillet. highly recommended. fast delivary and professional catering. It has a great atmosphere. check it out if you are in the lincoln park area.

the owner is a great guy actually. He is only an ass to the ones that deserve it. Food is great. I recomend the chicken tenders with dill sause. Then try the chocolate cake. All kinds of drinks and the waiters are really nice. Last time i was there they had a dj and i heard about a fashion show. Great place, i highly recomend it.

The owner is a first class jerk. I don't recomend this place. He's too hard headed.
