To prevent white denial the trump of race cards being played on me, I did not entertain the thought of our being denied entry was racial. Therefore, I started to examine the attire of the (disproportionate number of) black male patrons entering and exiting the establishment. I wanted to see what was so improper about my party’s attire and me by juxtaposing these examples. While all of this is going on a white woman arrives with her company (a black man) who is dressed like my brother and me. To deescalate a potential heated situation, they denied the interracial couple too – then latter allowed them, as we watched from the outside windows walking to our vehicle. I laughed all the way to the car and then to my home. The incident this past Saturday night confirmed that all over these 196 million miles of earth that it is a conservative effort to keep the black on bottom and the white on top. This is not the first complaint of this nature against the Wit/ Roof (just Google), and because I am not a college student on division street (pun intended), it will not be the last.

Do not be fooled because that brother was able to get in with his white woman on his arm, or the few blacks I mentioned were allowed in, that race did not play an issue. If not, I wonder if the effeminate style of dress, or “proper attire” they were wearing had something to do with it. I mean not all (so-called)niggas can dress like Will I Am and John Legend….

out of seemingly nowhere, Roof has become The hottest summer night spot in chicago, with lines of the beautiful and those trying to be, down the block starting at sundown. having clubbed and bar-hopped in this city for years, this lounge-style spot offers an edgy feel; bartenders that know how to mix; and seemingly more groups than wingmen/girls on the prowl. Indeed a hot spot, but winter weather will prove if Roof has the necessary staying power.
