Gina and Tom say: how truly awful the ginger man experience is - why pay good money to hang out somewhere dark, dirty, loud, and smelly? The greatest puzzle, though, is the chick-bartender’s (short dark hair) lack of manners. "Service with a smile" wont happen at this dive. We would rather stay home than go back to this place again and have to suffer the bartender’s bitchy, brusque treatment. If you want service with impatience and a scowl, go to this horrible place.

Agreed, an awesome bar except for that one bitchy bartender who is so uncomfortable with herself that it's uncomfortable being around her! But, great beer selection and the rest of the bartenders are a-ok.

I agree, gingerman is a great bar to go to. It's a very chill atmosphere and the drinks are made well. There's the random drunk wrigleyville guy that wanders in every now and then but mostly it's pretty fun. Here's a few complaints. There are some RUDE bartenders. There's one girl with black hair with blonde underneath and has bangs that is SO pretentious. If you're a girl, she will take forever to serve you, make your drink wrong, talk crap to the other bartenders. She hates women! I've had some of the other bartenders come up to me and say "oh sorry about her, she's just having a bad day" - Every single time I'm there? The rest of the bartenders are great and know what they're doing but this girl... maybe she should spend less time being an angry metro scenester and spend more time doing her job. Other than that, besides the pretentious angsty pierced/tattooed society haters that only want to listen to obscure indie rock or the smiths on the jukebox and the random wrigleyville drunkos... this place is OK

Me and a couple friends went to the Gingerman before a show at the Metro and had so much fun we missed half the show and didn't care! We went back after the show was over and I can honestly say I had more fun at the bar than at the concert. I didn't feel out of place and they had good beer at a good price. I love the laidback atmosphere.
