this place isn't all that on top of that i cant believe they raised their prices but i guess it makes up 4 their loses in food, this place isn't very comfy unless u get either 1 of the corners on the benches but i love what they did to the place looks wise

I wanted to love this place, especially after reading the recent review in the Tribune. The menu sounds delicious and the prices are amazingly cheap. We ordered a large quantity of food for carryout on a Friday night: a variety of Kebabs with many sides. Almost everything was mediocre at best and some of the items were almost inedible. The only seasoning in the rice was black pepper, and there was so much of it we could not eat any of the rice. The chicken was ok, but the beef was almost as tough as jerky, and flavorless. The hummus had an off taste and the iceberg lettuce in the fatoush was wilted. The pita bread was stale. The order took over 30 minutes to fill…. I eat often at noon-o-kebab and Semiramis, and was hoping this place would be of similar quality – not even close. Overall, an extreme disappointment.

This place is one of the best cafe I have been too,. The food is good the staff is wonderful. I am a college student,and I live in the south suburb, and when I was introduced to this place by a friend , I feel in love. I make sure when I am up north I am at carthage.

I have to say this is one of the best hookah cafes I have ever been to. As a college student I am always short on cash, but at this place I never have to worry about affording the bill. Carthage Cafe has top quality food for wonderfully cheap prices. Also Carthage Cafe compared to other hookah cafes has an even ratio between men and women. A lot of the hookah cafes on Lawerence are mainly filled with men and if a female walks in , no matter what she looks like, all the men turn and stare. At Carthage Cafe the male patrons respect the female patrons. The service is also top knotch and is ten better at Carthage Cafe then at other hookah lounges. If you are not a smoker that is ok because there is a large non smoking area where you can enjoy a delicious meal! It is the type of place where you can bring the whole family for a birthday party or to simply have a romantic date. Carthage Cafe is versitile in the way that it can please any customer that can walk through their doors. PLUS! They deliver!
