Love it. Went the other night and I agree with all of the positives listed here. It's very intimate but not cramped. Awesome DJ, if you're into techno/trance (which I am) and yes, while the drinks are $10, they're quite stiff, so you won't need many. Nice place with gorgeous people all around. A little bit of NYC but with a friendlier, midwestern feel.

I've been going to Jbar since they opened last April. They have honed to perfection what every other lounge/club has been promising and can never seem to fullfill. They have the best music in the city and the staff treats you like you are attending a fine dining establishment, only with alot more personality and friendliness. The doorman shakes your hand upon arrival and the managers will walk up and "hug" you as you pass through it's doors. It's not just me either, I watch them treat each guest as if they were a friend coming over to their own home for a cocktail party. The drinks are a little pricey, but I can't stay away and require a weekly fix of their amazing mojitos. This place isn't going anywhere and anyone who disapproves of being treated with respect in a venue that is in high demand and may sometimes be a little crowded, than there are plenty of other places to choose from. Please don't bring your negative energy to my favorite place to go out in the city...

This place is horrible, with a pathetic attempt to be some bar in NY/LA. The roped of entrance? When no one is waiting in line to go there and there is NO ONE inside. NO ONE SHOULD EVER GO THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!

No AC and very cramped. Yet they'd like you to dress to impress? The place is the space of a dive bar with the ambition of a Vegas club. I'd like for it to work, as I'd like to have a place like it close by. Definitely not a hotel bar (which would be opulent - not cramped). Hopefully the new Trump building will host a nice upscale hotel bar. Or I guess we'll have to wait for Nicky O.

Finally a breath of fresh air for Chicago. I've been to this bar several times with my girlfriends and everytime I go I feel a little closer to NY where I moved here from. An upscale ambiance where service is the first priority. Everyone from the doorman, to the cocktail waitress treats you like you are dining in a five star restaurant. The sound system makes your ears melt and they play an eclectic blend of trance and hip hop depending on the day and time. This place really caters to the beautiful people as well. Late twenties business proffesionals with a flare for style is what you'll find. If you are trying to find a seat on a Friday or Saturday night you better make a reservation though because this place gets busy and it is a smaller boutique lounge. Dress to impress because they really enforce a dress code. I've seen many a person turned away while waiting in line for not putting some effort into their attire.

J Bar is a really hot, and sexy place. Only open for a little while they had a great deal of celebrities, and not to mention the staff makes you feel as though you are an A lister.. go visit asap!
