We had a bad experience last Saturday night with the bouncer. We showed up a bit after 1 in the the bouncer wanted us to wait outside in below 0 temeratures for no reason. There wan NOT a line. I asked why we were waiting and explained that we did not have any coats on. Hi did not give us a reason and replied, "that's not my problem". The group of us went elsewhere. That right there gives us the indication that Zocalo is not a place of class.

I was here a week ago and I have to say I was impressed. The food was delicious, but very spicy( which is great for me, but might not suite everyone) and the cocktails were amazing. I went with my husband for our anniversary and the atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. We could have a conversation, which is always a plus these days. Our server was very attentive and made good suggestion. I will definitely be back again.

The food in this place is terrible. I have been there on four separate occasions and have yet to have a decent dining experience. The waiters service is horrible. The food is bland and sloppily thrown together. I really would not serve this food to my dog and I will not go back. Good thing they have lots of tequila, only thing you can do not to taste the food. Over priced and horrible with bad service. However, I will say the bar staff give good service and unlike the rest of the staff a friendly smiling face.

Upon entering Zocalo you notice the stairs are inlaid with moziac tile, which hints at the rumored connection between Zocalo and Lalos. The second thing you will notice is Zocalo's amazing bar. With elegant dark wood, the bar is actually designed like a collection of elaborate bookshelves, sliding ladder and all. However instead of storing the latest Harry Potter novel, Zocalo's "spirits-shelf" stores massive amounts of tequila. From Patron to Don Julio you will not have trouble getting blitzed. Not to be outdone by the decour, the food presents itself also with great athstetics. The plates are very well arranged with lots of color and presentation. Our waiter, named Edwardo was very knowledgable about the courses and very helpful answering our questions. We went the tapas way with a 1 maincourse shared between our 5. As taste is opinionated, my favorite was the ceviche, pork tenderloin (which has a very hawain feel), and mole mushrooms. Overall a good experience, I personally like the less affluent attitude and food of Lalos, but Zacalo was a good experience if you want to live it up. 7.5 out of 10
