One of the city's best Mexican restaurants since Geno Bahena's old Chilpancingo closed down. Great service and even better food without the trendy neighborhood prices. A must for all true Mexican food fans.

Great food...especially the wings! They have AMAZING bloody marys and quite the weekend following for them. Stopped in last week and saw they just revamped the entire outdoor patio...very nice. Staff is attentive (and yes attractive). Jason, Matt and Karl have done a great job with the place. I'll be back.
Cheers! Cubs in '08.

I've been going to the Peace School for martial arts and yoga for several years. The school is great for all ages and all ability levels. I bring my three kids, and they always have a great time. The Peace School not only teaches martial arts, but it also encourages the students to act peacefully and to wish for world peace. The style is similar to taekwondo, though it has some unique movements. If you are looking for a supportive, traditional school, this is the place for you and your family.

Twelve of us went here last weekend. It wasn't too crowded, but not many restaurants are nowadays. We had reservations and were seated right away. I had the salmon special which was really light and flavorful. I tasted another fish dish a friend had (I think it was bass) and it melted in my mouth. The next time I go there I'm going to order the bass and that appetizer with the asparagus. It looked terrific but both dishes of it were gone by the time it got passed around to me.
The waiter's accent was a little tough to decipher but he got all our orders correct. The portions were generous yet everyone's plate was squeaky clean by the end of dinner. The food was too good not to finish it all there. The prices aren't what I'd call "super reasonable", but we definitely got what we paid for.

I was thrilled to see an Indian restaurant open in our neighborhood. My first lunch there was with another friend who has also spent time in India, as have I. We were more than delighted by the food, the service, and talking with the owner, who is gracious, creative, and doing a fantastic thing for the neighborhood. The food was wonderful - delicious, and enough authentic to be considered Indian, without overkill - the title, Fresh Indian, is just right. We are incredibly happy they have joined the neighborhood, and plan to eat there with great regularity!

THIS IS NOT YOUR ORDINARY LOCAL TAQUIERA!! Mixteco Grill is EXCELLENT, authentic Oaxacan food. We found out later that the chef had worked as a sous at Frontera and Topolobampo, and the food definitely had the Rick Bayless stamp on it. Ingredients were fresh, perfectly cooked, authentic, and artfully presented.
We started our meal with Empanadas, which were perfectly fried and accompanied with a lovely and subtle cilantro-based sauce. My wife had the shrimp, while I had the pulled pork, both of which were wonderfully prepared and had a complex mix of citrus, herbs and chilis.
We ended the meal with a generous portion of tres leches cake with fresh berries, which was moist and perfectly semi-sweet. The service was eager and earnest, and the chef came out to personally thank us for dining at the restaurant. He was very personable and kind, and it shows in his food.
Mixteco Grill is high-end Mexican cuisine, and dinner for two, with shared appetizer and dessert, was exactly fifty bucks. But portions were substantially large, and as aforementioned the ingredients were fresh and expertly prepared. My wife said even the coffee was the real deal.
But we'd like to implore the owners of Mixteco Grill to do just one thing - PLEASE CHANGE THE AWNING! It looks cheap, uninviting and misleading, and really isn't representative of the wonderful cooking inside.
We'll be going back on a regular basis. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood!
