Bluebird Review
The Bluebird is a wonderful place to eat and drink! If you're used to eating at Applebee's then you might be frustrated with the portion sizes and the prices, but if you appreciate quality then you comprehend price tag. I visit The Bluebird on a weekly basis because GREAT bars with GREAT food are scarce in the neighborhood.

Sol de Mexico Review
One of the city's best Mexican restaurants since Geno Bahena's old Chilpancingo closed down. Great service and even better food without the trendy neighborhood prices. A must for all true Mexican food fans.

Mullen's on Clark Review
Great food...especially the wings! They have AMAZING bloody marys and quite the weekend following for them. Stopped in last week and saw they just revamped the entire outdoor patio...very nice. Staff is attentive (and yes attractive). Jason, Matt and Karl have done a great job with the place. I'll be back.

Cheers! Cubs in '08.

Deli Boutique Review
We LOVE this place and try to go at least once a week. We purchase their breads for dinner parties, we love their breakfast sandwiches and their homemade salads are wonderful for pinics or to take on the boat. the classic breakfast sandwich with swiss and sausage is my boyfriend's favorite and I cannot get enough of the Italian sandwich (I add cheese though). They have a nice seletion of meats and cheeses and you can build your own sandwiches or wraps. I think the pre-suggested ones they have on the menu are still better though. More and more people must be finding out about our secret spot because it has become much busier in the last couple of weeks.

Medici Bakery Review
Great! Walk over for the best chocolate croissant in the city-almond croissants are so good they are gone by midmorning and here only on the weekends. The cinnamon rolls and fruit pastries in the summer make the experience a visual and olfactory delight. Yum!

The Peace School Review
I've been going to the Peace School for martial arts and yoga for several years. The school is great for all ages and all ability levels. I bring my three kids, and they always have a great time. The Peace School not only teaches martial arts, but it also encourages the students to act peacefully and to wish for world peace. The style is similar to taekwondo, though it has some unique movements. If you are looking for a supportive, traditional school, this is the place for you and your family.

Ed Debevic's Review
I've been to Ed's many times, this by far is the most entertaining restaurant in Chicago. I am bringing my out of town friends to lunch there this weekend, and I cannot wait to see the looks on their faces when they get a bunch of straws thrown at them.

Chocolate Grape Review
I went to chocolate grape for dinner this past Saturday night. I was immediatly welcomed by a staff member who explained the pairing menu exquisitly. The decor is very warm and inviting..the wine list was fabulous and the food was amazing. I am excited for their patio to open so I can enjoy their many wines and chocolates outside in the summer air.

Grillroom Chophouse & Wine Bar Review
My recent trip to Chicago's Grillroom Chophouse was a complete joy. Everyone thought their food was great, and the staff was efficient and friendly. While they are known for their steaks, we had seafood. It was fabulous!

Happi Sushi Highland Park Review
This restaurant is a mainstay in the Ravinia neighborhood of Highland Park and is not to be missed. The service is friendly and accommodating with broad smiles and exuberant greetings both upon entering and exiting......leaving one happy to be there and sad to leave. As for the food, everything is fresh and wonderfully prepared...from the miso soup, edamame and gyoza to the rolls, sushi and tempura, it's an absolute delight. Many times I simply stick to a varied combination of the starters, never getting to a main course. Singles, couples and families are equally at home here, making Happi Sushi a definite destination if you're looking for good food at a good price in a friendly atmosphere. Don't miss it!

Diner Grill Review
One of the best diner's in the midwest. Open 24 hours + greasy awesome food= best place ever. If you need a place to get some sweet food after a night of awesomeness(booze) then you've found your place. Plus there's juke box if you're still up for more tunes.

Suckers Candy Review
The staff at this store are the sweetest people you would ever want to meet. Very helpful, and personable. I was able to pick out the perfect gift for my son for valentines, and the perfect favors for sister's baby shower.

Italian Coffee Bar Review
Home away from home. Only coffee bar I've found that is like those in Italy. Starbucks is an insult, ROM is sadly mistaken. ICB's drinks are sunshine in a cup.

Bella Rosa Review
Twelve of us went here last weekend. It wasn't too crowded, but not many restaurants are nowadays. We had reservations and were seated right away. I had the salmon special which was really light and flavorful. I tasted another fish dish a friend had (I think it was bass) and it melted in my mouth. The next time I go there I'm going to order the bass and that appetizer with the asparagus. It looked terrific but both dishes of it were gone by the time it got passed around to me.

The waiter's accent was a little tough to decipher but he got all our orders correct. The portions were generous yet everyone's plate was squeaky clean by the end of dinner. The food was too good not to finish it all there. The prices aren't what I'd call "super reasonable", but we definitely got what we paid for.

We've been in uptown for 15 years and have turned tons of friends on to Gigio's. Its a scary storefront, but the pizza is world class new york style!

Cary's Lounge Review
Carey's is also the official listening post for THIS IS HELL, the brilliant political talk show that airs Sat. AM from 9am-1pm (sports programming permitting) on WNUR 89.3 FM, Northwestern University Radio. This show is one of the hidden gems of Chicago media and meeting the host and its producers and sometimes its guests - "watching us get drunk", as the host says - is another joy of Chicago life.

Veerasway Review
I was thrilled to see an Indian restaurant open in our neighborhood. My first lunch there was with another friend who has also spent time in India, as have I. We were more than delighted by the food, the service, and talking with the owner, who is gracious, creative, and doing a fantastic thing for the neighborhood. The food was wonderful - delicious, and enough authentic to be considered Indian, without overkill - the title, Fresh Indian, is just right. We are incredibly happy they have joined the neighborhood, and plan to eat there with great regularity!

Weegee's Lounge Review
The atmosphere is clean and distinctly tasteful. I walked in not knowing anything about the famous photojournalist "Weegee", but found out more from the friendly proprietor, Alex and enjoyed the music and several cocktails. Thanks for making my visit to Chicago, memorable.

Mixteco Grill Review
THIS IS NOT YOUR ORDINARY LOCAL TAQUIERA!! Mixteco Grill is EXCELLENT, authentic Oaxacan food. We found out later that the chef had worked as a sous at Frontera and Topolobampo, and the food definitely had the Rick Bayless stamp on it. Ingredients were fresh, perfectly cooked, authentic, and artfully presented.

We started our meal with Empanadas, which were perfectly fried and accompanied with a lovely and subtle cilantro-based sauce. My wife had the shrimp, while I had the pulled pork, both of which were wonderfully prepared and had a complex mix of citrus, herbs and chilis.

We ended the meal with a generous portion of tres leches cake with fresh berries, which was moist and perfectly semi-sweet. The service was eager and earnest, and the chef came out to personally thank us for dining at the restaurant. He was very personable and kind, and it shows in his food.

Mixteco Grill is high-end Mexican cuisine, and dinner for two, with shared appetizer and dessert, was exactly fifty bucks. But portions were substantially large, and as aforementioned the ingredients were fresh and expertly prepared. My wife said even the coffee was the real deal.

But we'd like to implore the owners of Mixteco Grill to do just one thing - PLEASE CHANGE THE AWNING! It looks cheap, uninviting and misleading, and really isn't representative of the wonderful cooking inside.

We'll be going back on a regular basis. A wonderful addition to the neighborhood!
