This restaurant and banquet hall in Beverly makes you feel like you're stepping into a slice of roadside Americana. From the outside, the faux rock walls, shingled roof and marquee scream of the '70s, even though the place opened in 1954. The four rooms (plus an Irish pub) can host groups as small as 25 and as large as 300, making it one of the more accommodating banquet halls in the city.
Beverly Woods's menus don't seem to have changed much during its 50-plus years of business. It's all about comfort and buffet-style eating. Breakfast (at $10.85 per person) is full of scrambled eggs, pancakes, grits, bacon and sausage, while lunch ($12.50-$14.50 per person) and dinner ($25-$28 per person) features large portions of meat, usually smothered in some form of gravy and served along with the restaurant's signature hot and fluffy rolls.
