Jamaica Jerk has proven to many antsy and anxious diners that a good meal is worth the wait. And even the waiting here is good with the restaurant's abundance of Caribbean-inspired appetizers.
Jamaica Jerk makes it easy to keep your mouth entertained whilst you dream of curry goat and jerk chicken wings. Start with an order of saltfish and bammy or go for the greasy (but oh-so-good) conch fritters. Try a bowl of the restaurant's pumpkin soup and soak it up with a hunk of homemade cornbread.
Entrees here boast plenty of spicy poultry and battered fish, but the most popular item stands alone, and that's Jamaica Jerk's curried goat. The dish is prepared with a mess of potatoes, all sopped up in an addictive spicy sauce. Other interesting options include oxtail and beans, brown stew chicken and escoveitched fish. You won't find many vegetarian dishes on the menu, but most of the restaurant's sides, like the fried plantains, sweet potato fries and collard greens, are meat free. And the portions are sizeable enough to create a meal out of two or three items.
Desserts include the popular bread pudding, rum cake and mango sorbet. Jamaica Jerk is also available for private parties for as many as fifty people.
