A sibling restaurant to
P.S. Bangkok (they're independently owned by a brother and sister), P.S. Bangkok 2 offers up an extensive Thai menu of tasty dishes.
Don't let the decor discourage you—ho-hum tan walls, white tablecloths and orderly seating. All the color and spice of this restaurant have been saved for the dishes, like the wonderfully sharp curries and the multi-layered flavors of the kai yang rama (charbroiled garlic chicken).
Expect the usual line-up of solid Thai options (pad Thai, glass noodle salad, lemon chicken) as well as some creative highlights, such as the P.S. Tacos, ground shrimp and chicken mixed with roasted coconut and marinated in a spicy Thai sauce and served with crispy spring roll skins. A dozen different curries, including pineapple, catfish and catfish will keep curry-lovers well-occupied, while vegetarians will appreciate the bounty of vegetable-focused dishes.
There's plenty of reason to rejoice if you've come here seeking a bargain; the lunch special is twinned with a dinner special that extends until closed. For less than $7 you can feast on a smaller helping of select entrees (not a problem, as portions are hearty) plus an egg roll, spring rolls or chicken satay for dinner.
