This West Loop restaurant offers guests a journey (which is what the word 'viaggio' means in Italian) to the south of Italy, while still keeping a comfortable American vibe. Simple, fresh ingredient are used in all the made-to-order dishes, from the meatballs with romaine salad ($12) to rigatoni in Sunday pork gravy ($22) to lobster francese (cold water lobster tail egg-battered and sauteed with butter and white wine and topped with lump crab meat, $42). There's a mostly Italian wine list and a full menu of beers and specialty cocktails.
The 70-seat dining room features white tablecloth-topped tables, and family-style seating is available. An outdoor patio with seating for 26 will open soon for the warmer months.
