Editorial Review of Windy City Cafe

For those of you on a tireless search for the perfect brunch spot, stop right there. We have a winner: The Windy City Cafe. While most of us have grown to expect the hour-long wait at Bongo Room, freezing our hungry tushies off for a hot meal, that's not the case at this hot spot.

Not to be mistaken as your typical corner cafe, The Windy City Cafe is more aptly described as a grocery store of a restaurant. In addition to breakfast favorites like thick French toast, fresh strawberry waffles, chocolate chip pancakes and egg dishes galore, you'll find everything from soups and salads to paninis and fettuccini alfredo. The cafe prides itself on its famous B.B.Q. beef sandwich, served on sourdough. Those with a sweet tooth ought to consider the apple cinnamon pancakes dusted with powdered sugar. You'll find your meal as tasty as it is cost-effective. Windy City even features a Healthy Corner, with a bevy of waist-friendly options.

Breakfast all day, a friendly wait staff and a homey and bustling atmosphere are guaranteed. Better yet, you'll be in and out in less than an hour.

Average cost: <$10
