Purchased in 1931 by the Waukegan Park District, Bonnie Brook Golf Course is one of Chicagoland's best-maintained, publicly owned venues. This design has the look and feel, the maturity, of a golfing era gone by. At 6,701 yards from the back tees, it is by no means a walkover. Four Par 4s play at more than 400 yards, including the 462-yard 10th. Number 12 is a solid 369-yard dogleg right Par 4 that requires a well-placed tee ball to set up an approach over water. Practice range, putting green and professional instruction are part of the package at Bonnie Brook. A full-line pro shop, a friendly bar and grill, and complete dining and banquet facilities round out the services at this quality public course.
