An original adaptation of Bertolt Brecht’s The Caucasian Chalk Circle. Directed by Tim Speicher, The Voodoo Chalk Circle takes place on the eve of Grusha’s 21st birthday when a hurricane strikes New Orleans. Along with physical calamity the storm leaves behind, the social structures of the city also erode. In their place, long-buried and ancient traditions rise from the mire, and everything that was old is new again combining live sound design, music, puppetry, projections and dance.
