It's March, and we're mired in the interminable end-game of a Chicago winter. What better time for Shakespeare's most ebulliently spring-like play? After being persecuted by an unjust duke, wisecracking ingenue Rosalind escapes to the Forest of Arden, where the weather is perfect, the trees sprout poems and dressing in drag can solve all of your problems. However, "As You Like It" is more than just a spring break. Critics say that William Brown's subtle, brilliant production brings out the oft-elided depths in the classic comedy, making it a powerful statement as well as a damn good time.
