Housed in the Historic Chicago Temple Building as the Professional Theater in Residence, Silk Road makes use of an intimate, fully-equipped 99-seat flexible black box theater in Pierce Hall, located in the lower level.

The project is a creative response to the terrorist attacks of September 11th, and showcases playwrights of Asian, Middle Eastern and Mediterranean backgrounds whose works address themes relevant to the peoples of the Silk Road and their Diaspora communities.
