A company member of American Theatre Company since 1998, Whiteside has appeared in ATC's Bus Stop (which won an After Dark Award for Best Ensemble).

Elsewhere she's performed the role of Myrrha and others in Mary Zimmerman's Tony-nominated play, Metamorphoses. She has also appeared in the About Face Theatre's Jeff-recommended production of Dream Boy, By the Power Invested (About Face Outreach), Phaedra's Love (Defiant Theatre), Perjured City (Streetsigns The Case of Sleepy B (Chicago Humanities Festival) and A Perfect Ganesh (Northlight).

The film credits of this Northwestern University Cum Laude graduate include the lead in Big Canyon (which won the 1998 Chicago International Film Festival Silver Plaque Jury Prize), Last Word, and a historical period-based independent feature, I, Mary. HBO bought Big Canyon; the film played at the Telluride Film Festival, Hamptons International Film Festival, and won the Silver Plaque Prize at the Chicago International Film Festival.

She wrote and starred in On the House at the Lankershim Arts Center in connection with the L.A. Cultural Affairs. She also served as contributing writer for American Theater Company's annual reading of Big Shoulders. Her television credits include "Cupid", "Jack & Jill", "Dawson's Creek", "Six Feet Under", "Cold Case" and was a recurring role on "The Education of Max Bickford".
