| Born and raised in Evanston and big sister of John Cusack, this sibling duo both got their film acting start in the John Hughes classic 80's comedy Sixteen Candles. Can you place Joan in that flick? Try the geeky neck-braced girl, or as credited on the IMDB website, "Girl wearing a Scoliosis Brace". Luckily, she moved on to bigger and better roles. Securing her place as one of Chicago's top-notch female comedians, Cusack's snagged two Oscar nominations for Best Supporting Actress in Working Girl (1988) as Melanie Griffith's unconventional secretary gal-pal and In and Out (1997) as the wife of ambiguously gay teacher, Kevin Kline. She makes an appearance in the new film Runaway Bride (which matches Richard Gere and Julia Roberts for the first time since Pretty Woman), which is directed by fellow Chicagoan Gary Marshall.
