Award-winning cutting edge theatre was founded in 1992 by twelve Northwestern University theatre graduates. Says Robert Falls, "Roadworks is a company to watch, encourage and nurture." The company recently left their old home in Bucktown for a new 1200 foot office/rehearsal space in the West Loop. Last year's Dealer's Choice was nominated for five Jefferson Awards, including one for best performance. The 1998/99 season will include The SantaLand Diaries and Phyllis Nagy's Disappeared. Their recent show at the Steppenwolf studio theatre stars Larry Neumann, who -- says Chicago Magazine -- "gives Disappeared -- an edgy choice typical of the ambitious, uncompromising young Roadworks company -- the kinky thrill of looking in a fun-house mirror."
