| Stef Tovar was most recently seen as Stine in CITY OF ANGELS at the Noho Arts Center in Los Angeles, but his hometown is Chicago, where he tries to get back and do theatre as much as he can. His Chicago credits include Dobbit in BELOW THE BELT, Macheath in THE THREE PENNY OPERA, Raff in A STONECARVER and in the ensembles of MILLION BELLS OF OCEAN and QUAKE at the American Theatre Company (formerly American Blues Theatre) where he is a ensemble member. Other Chicago credits include Michael Fitzsimmons in the World Premiere of PEGGY SUE GOT MARRIED the Musical at the Marriot Lincolnshire; Valentin in KISS OF THE SPIDERWOMAN and Czolgosz in ASSASSINS—both directed by Gary Griffin at the Apple Tree Theatre; and most recently, the World Premiere of Studs Terkel’s THE GOOD WAR by Craig Carnelia and David Bell at the Northlight Theatre. Stef is a recipient of the Joseph Jefferson Award for Best Supporting Actor in a Play for his portrayal of Vinal in Oliver Mayer's BLADE TO THE HEAT. LA credits include Che in EVITA for Theatre League; Rudy in WRONG FOR EACH OTHER at the Tamarind Theatre; George in SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (LA Ovation nomination-Best Musical) Kip in WONDER OF THE WORLD and Homer in FLOYD COLLINS at the West Coast Ensemble and Jamie in the Los Angeles premiere of THE LAST FIVE YEARS. Stef played Kenny in the film ‘Employee of the Month’ by Mitch Rouse and Jay Leggett—starring Matt Dillon, Steve Zahn and Christina Applegate, which premiered at Sundance in 2004. He recently wrapped PORTING by Ned Farr and LIVING TIL THE END by Amanda Goodwin--due out in 2006. Commercially, Stef can recently be seen driving (and crashing) Kurt Busch’s Nascar for FORD, talking on the phone with the Gnome for TRAVELOCITY or sniffing a Ciabatta for JACK IN THE BOX. His other commercial credits include Nexium, Scott's Lawn Soil and Long John Silver's. Stef misses the Windy City and hopes move back with his wife Karen sometime in 2006--in time to see the Cubs play the White Sox in the 06' World Series.
