| Son of announcer Ken Roberts and cousin of actor Everett Sloane, Tony Roberts continued the family tradition. Roberts studied acting at Northwestern University, and began his career with a regular appearance on the soap opera "The Edge of Night." After meeting Woody Allen in his 1969 Broadway production of Play It Again, Sam, Roberts has appeared in several Allen movies, including Annie Hall (1977), Stardust Memories (1980), A Midsummer Night's Sex Comedy (1982), and Radio Days (1987).
In 1995, Tony Roberts starred across from Julie Andrews as a flamboyant cabaret entertainer in Victor/Victoria.
