Nestled on the corner of Halsted and Kingsbury, this blink-and-you'll-miss-it Pilates studio is a study in the art of down-to-earth, welcoming minimalism. Sparsely decorated with black and white photos of individuals practicing Pilates, the bright, airy space is an ideal spot to stretch and strengthen your core.
As for the classes, Body Endeavors places an emphasis on private or semi-private lessons ($68 for a private 55-minute class or purchase as a package). If money is an object but you're still willing to spend, consider working with an apprentice for a discounted rate. Group mat and equipment classes (which use wall-unit Cadillacs, magic circles and pilates free weights) are offered on weeknights; prices range from $15 for a single pilates group mat class to $200 for an eight-class equipment class card. Anyone is welcome to drop in the mat classes but you must have previous experience to join the cadillac/mat class. Pilates instructor-hopefuls may also sign up for a variety of group lessons.
The studio tops off its monthly roster with a special event or workshop every third Thursday of the month (bring a friend and enjoy a $5 discount) that covers anything from pilates for newbies to lectures on healthy 'n quick cooking. Best of all, when you're done with your workout, you don't even have to leave the premises when you're ready to treat yourself to a professional rub-down, from a $1-per-minute chair massage to 90 minutes of full body bliss ($110).
